Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) are hosting Mumbai Indians (MI) in match number 41 of Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday night. Ishan Kishan who formerly played for MI was out for just one run from four balls. The incident occurred in the first ball of the third over with Deepak Chahar bowling to Kishan.

MI’s pacer delivered the ball down the leg side and Ryan Rickelton completed a routine take. What followed next was completely bizarre as Ishan Kishan began to walk away. Hardik Pandya and rest of MI team could be seen celebrating the wicket as Kishan was lauded for his fair play.

There was more drama few deliveries later when the replay of the ‘dismissal’ came on the big screen. It was seen that the batter didn’t get any edge on his bat and had walked off the field despite being not out. Once the replays were seen on the big screen, there were audible groans in the crowd and even the commentators were left perplexed.

Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bowl first as a win on Wednesday will propel his team to the third spot in the table. Hyderabad on the other hand had to win to keep their qualification hopes alive. For MI, it was young Vignesh Puthur who was back in the team for Ashwani Kumar as the only change from the last game against Chennai.

Trent Boult, gave MI the early breakthrough with the wicket of Travis Head in the second ball off his opening over. Head went for a huge shot but didn’t time the ball well only to see Naman Dhir to take a simple catch. After the wicket of Ishan Kishan, it was Abhishek Sharma who was out caught by Puthur off Boult for eight runs.

Deepak Chahar got his second wicket of the day as he dismissed Nitish Kumar Reddy for two caught by Mitchell Santner. By the end of six overs, SRH were in huge trouble with their score reading 24 for four. Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar had done the damage with the ball picking two wickets each.
