Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni was recently spotted sporting a new look with casual clothes and a short hairdo. This look from India’s iconic former skipper set social media on fire. Many fans complimented the look as the former CSK skipper was seen making his way to his vanity van.
There are still doubts over Dhoni’s involvement in IPL 2025. Chennai will sit down with their former skipper on October 29th or 30th to thrash out his future. According to reports, if Dhoni does make himself available then he will be retained as an uncapped player according to the new rules.

As per reports, MS Dhoni could be paid INR 4 crores with the coming season most likely to be his swansong. The other players who could be retained are skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad as the top pick. Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, and Matheesha Pathirana are the other names rumoured to be retained ahead of the coming season.
Former Indian star gives his take on Dhoni’s IPL future
Former India batter Mohammad Kaif thinks the new uncapped player rule will greatly benefit the former CSK skipper. Kaif said, “I believe the rule has been changed rightly. I believe if he is fit and playing well, why not, change the rule and let him play.”
India’s former star also said, “Everyone knows the rule has been changed for Dhoni Sahab, and why not, you will want to change the rule for a player like Dhoni”. Many critics have called out the move as they feel it is being made only to accommodate the former Indian stalwart.
Kaif also said, “You will get the chance to see MS Dhoni again. He is fit, batting at a strike rate of 200, keeping well, and that is why I believe the rules will keep changing till he wants to play. If he wants to play in the IPL, he will play. He is such a big player, such a big match-winner, and has been a leader for CSK.”
Dhoni stepped down as the captain of the side passing the baton ton Ruturaj Gaikwad. Coming into the season as the defending champions, Chennai failed to make it to the playoffs. So far Chennai has won five IPL titles all under the leadership of MS Dhoni and also two T20 Champions League titles.
