Veteran cricket legend MS Dhoni is likely to meet Chennai Super Kings next week. According to reports carried by Sports Tak, the 43-year-old is set to sit across the table with the men in yellow on the 29th or 30th of October. The two sides are set to speak about Dhoni’s likely participation in the IPL 2025 season.
Just a few days ago, CSK’s CEO Kasi Viswanathan said to Sports Vikatan, “We have still no confirmation from him, though we will like him to continue playing for us. Hope he will confirm before the 31st of October”. If Dhoni commits to play the former CSK skipper will be played INR 4 Crore as an uncapped player.
Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, all-rounder Shivam Dube, and fast bowler Matheeshan Pathirana are rumoured to be the top 3 retentions. Chennai Super Kings like the rest of the other 9 teams have to submit their retention list by the 31st of October before the Auctions take place in November.
Rajasthan Royals set to retain three Indian stars
India today carried out a report that 2008 IPL winners Rajasthan Royals are all set to retain skipper Sanju Samson. The other retained players list is likely to include Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyan Parag. According to reports by India Today, veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal could be picked up by RR using the Right to Match card.
Rahul Dravid is back at the helm as the coach ahead of the new season after coaching India to the T20 World Cup win. Sanju Samson scored a blistering ton for India during the third and final T20I game against Bangladesh while opening the batting. His knock came off a mere 40 balls which is the 2nd fastest T20I century for India.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has been in sublime form with the bat in the Test format with nearly 1000 runs for the season. The left-handed batter had a quiet start to IPL 2024 season but soon found his form. Jaiswal scored a terrific ton during the home against Mumbai Indians to help his side win the game.
Riyan Parag had a breakthrough season with the bat for Rajasthan Royals. This earned the youngster a chance to make his international debut. So far the 22-year-old has given good account for himself in the shortest formats under Surya Kumar Yadav. Parag played a key role in India’s series of whitewash wins against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh recently.
