Cricket star Ishan Kishan likely to be picked for the India A team ahead of the tour of Australia after his 100 for Jharkhand during Ranji Trophy game against Railways on Friday

Jharkhand skipper Ishan Kishan scored a blistering century on Friday against Railways during the 2nd round of Ranji Trophy matches. The left-handed batter who has played a handful of Test matches for India scored 101 runs from 158 balls with 13 fours and 2 sixes.

Ishan Kishan also scored tons during the Buchi Babu tournament and Duleep Trophy to show his form with the bat. This latest run of form has now seen BCCI take notice and is likely to reward the youngster for his consistency. 

PTI reported that the BCCI is set to include Ishan Kishan in the India A team for the tour of Australia. According to reports, Kishan will also be part of the team that will play against the senior Indian side in the practice match. India A are set to play a couple of four-day matches during their tour Down Under. 

Some of the other players in the squad could include Ruturaj Gaikwad and Abhimanyu Eeswaran. Bengal’s opening batter has been in tremendous form in recent times with centuries in the last few matches to stake his claim. Rohit Sharma likely missing one of the Test matches could open the place for an opening batter in the earlier games. 

Sai Sudharsan and Shreyas Iyer light up 2nd round matches with centuries

Mumbai took a commanding lead of 209 runs against Maharashtra on lunch during the 2nd day on Saturday. Ayush Mhatre batted well to score 176 runs from 232 balls with 22 fours and four huge sixes. Shreyas Iyer was batting on 101 from 132 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes with Suryakumar Yadav not out on 7. 

At the Arun Jaitley stadium in New Delhi, visiting side Tamil Nadu posted a huge 507/3 at lunch on the 2nd day. Sai Sudharsan was finally out for 213 runs from 274 balls with 25 fours and a six before falling to Navdeep Saini. Washington Sundar was batting on 140 having faced 259 balls with 17 fours and a six. 

Veteran Indian pacer Deepak Chahar ran riot as he bowled ten overs and picked 5/30 for Rajasthan against Himachal Pradesh. The 32-year-old dismissed Prashant Chopra for 6 before castling Ankit Kalsi, Ekant Sen, and Abhinandan Bharadwaj. The fifth wicket came when Mukul Negi was caught by Kunal Rathore for 1. At lunch, HP were reeling at 62/7 trailing the visitors by 282 runs.
