At the end of 17 overs, RCB were placed at 129 for the loss of six wickets with Tim David batting with Livingstone. In the second ball of the 18th over, Livingstone smacked Rashid for a six that evaded Sai Kishore’s fingers to go for six. The final two balls of the over saw two more sixes being hit as Livingstone raised his bat to reach his maiden fifty for RCB.

At the end of the 20 overs, RCB had managed to score 169 runs for the loss of eight wickets. The best bowler for the visitors was former RCB seamer Mohammed Siraj, who picked three wickets for 19 runs from his four overs. Prasidh Krishna, Arshad Khan, and Ishant Sharma picked a wicket each. R. Sai Kishore bowled well to pick 2/22 from his four overs while Rashid Khan went wicketless as he gave away 54 runs from his four overs.

RCB’s lower order blitz helps them reach decent total

Gujarat Titans had made a great start to the game as the hosts were reduced to 42 for four wickets inside seven overs. Arshad Khan got the key wicket of Virat Kohli for seven, while Mohammed Siraj dismissed Devdutt Padikkal and Phil Salt in successive overs. Ishant Sharma then got into the act as he got the wicket of Rajat Patidar for 12 runs.

Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingstone then added 52 runs for the fifth wicket in 38 balls. That stand was broken when Sharma was caught by Rahul Tewatia off Sai Kishore for 33 runs. His knock came off 21 balls with the help of five boundaries and a six. The left-arm spinner then dismissed Krunal Pandya for five runs to leave RCB reeling at 104 for six.

Livingstone and David then attacked every GT bowler to add 46 runs from just four overs for the seventh wicket. Siraj got the wicket of Livingstone for 54, caught by Jos Buttler. The English batter got his runs off 40 balls with just a single boundary and five huge sixes. Tim David, who scored 22 not out vs CSK, was out in the last ball of the innings for 32 runs, which came off 18 balls.
