Delhi Capitals (DC) are set to play their final home game of the IPL 2025 season as they take on Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday. The match which is set to be played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium will also be a key encounter for DC if they have to qualify for the playoffs. Ahead of the game both teams were seen sweating it out in the nets, with veteran batter Faf du Plessis in particular practising a few huge shots.

GT pacer Mohammed Siraj was a keen observer as he saw Plessis bat in the nets. Siraj was seen copying the former South African batter's stance and playing an imaginary pull shot. The short video posted by Gujarat Titans also saw Siraj mimic few other shots by Plessis before ending with “Uff! Crazy man.”

Siraj and du Plessis shared the dressing room for a few seasons during their time at Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The two will be at opposite sides on Sunday and are hoping to do well for their respective side. Delhi Capitals saw their last game against Punjab being abandoned, followed by the IPL being suspended.

Ravi Shastri slams critics over Shubman Gill's Test captaincy claims

GT skipper Shubman Gill has been touted as the favourite to take over as the new Indian Test captain. The 25-year-old, as per reports, has been favoured over Jasprit Bumrah to replace Rohit Sharma at the helm for the coming England tour. Many critics have panned the move, claiming Gill’s inexperience and unstable Test career so far.

Speaking to the ICC Review show, former India coach Ravi Shastri came out in support of Gill and slammed the critics. Shastri said, “You people will talk; he hasn't scored runs overseas. You know, that topic always comes up, not scored runs overseas. Sometimes I tell them, Go and see your own record. How much have you done overseas?”

Ravi Shastri also said, “Overseas, overseas, let him play, let him get a run overseas, then he'll score runs. He's a class player. He has a decade of cricket ahead of him for the country. And I'm sure he'll get cracking on one of the tours; he'll make up for all those runs he hasn't got on earlier."
