The LSG batters have completely outmuscled the GT bowlers in the first innings of the ongoing 64th game of the Indian Premier League. On the back of explosive batting, LSG posted a massive total of 235 runs for the loss of just 2 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
Meanwhile, what attracted the eyeballs of the fans and caught the attention of the fans was the heated exchange between star LSG batter Nicholas Pooran and GT’s pace spearhead, Mohammed Siraj, in the 16th over of the first innings.
The incident happened on the fourth ball of the 16th over, when Siraj bowled a bouncer on the fourth stump. Pooran happened to miss it, and it was the start of the exchange of some words between him and Siraj. Just on the next ball of the same over, the Caribbean star smashed a brilliant six over midwicket region to give a befitting answer to this argument.
The video of the heated exchange between Mohamme Siraj and Nicholas Pooran also went viral on social media as soon as it was shared by the official broadcasters on their official X handle (formerly Twitter).

LSG hold the command to spoil GT's playoff party
Speaking of the action of the game between GT and LSG, the hosts' skipper, Shubman Gill, won the toss and asked LSG to bat first. Batting first, the hosts’ opener Mitchell Starc smashed a blistering century off just 64 balls, with 10 fours and eight sixes. Besides him, Nicholas Pooran also played a quick, fiery and unbeaten knock of 56 runs off just 27 balls, smashing four fours and five sixes, alongside skipper Rishabh Pant’s unbeaten 16 runs of just 6 balls, with two sixes.
Earlier in the innings, Aiden Markram also scored 36 runs off just 24 balls, with three fours and two sixes. Only Arshad Khan and Sai Kishore could scalp a wicket each for GT in the first innings.
While chasing the target, the GT openers, Sai Sudharsan and skipper Shubman Gill, have scored 34 runs for no loss in 3.3 overs. Notably, this game’s result is going to play a crucial role in GT’s IPL 2025 campaign, as they are aiming to maintain their top spot, with a win in this game, which seems quite tough with the 236-run target.
