Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) posted a massive score of 205 on the board in the IPL 2025 game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Mitchell Marsh and Aiden Markram’s fifties helped LSG post the huge total on the board in what is a must-win game for the home side. Veteran seamer Harshal Patel pulled off a great slower ball that left Markram flummoxed and dismissed the batter for 61 runs.

The incident in question happened in fourth ball of the 16th over when Patel bowled a slower ball that was dipping into the batter. Markram was rushed into playing the shot but completely missed the line of the ball and heard the death rattle. This was also Patel’s 150th wicket in the IPL. The 34-year-old became the fastest to achieve the feat in terms of balls bowled.
For the visiting side, Eshan Malinga was the best bowler of the day picking two wickets for 28 runs from his four overs. The Sri Lankan got the key wicket of Rishabh Pant thanks to a spectacular return catch for seven. This was followed by the wicket of dangerous batter Ayush Badoni caught by Nitish Reddy for three runs.
Nicholas Pooran’s late blitz helps LSG breach 200 mark
Mitchell Marsh got off to a great start hitting compatriot Pat Cummins for a four and six in the first over of the game. The 33-year-old went onto score 65 off 39 balls laced with six boundaries and four huge sixes. The opening pair added 115 runs inside 11 before Harsh Dubey got the wicket of Marsh to give the visitors a huge breakthrough.
None of the LSG batters barring Nicholas Pooran managed to stay long and score runs. The West Indian star was run-out after scoring 45 off just 26 balls with the help of six boundaries and six. Akash Deep gave LSG the perfect finish as he hit the last ball of the innings for a six to help the home team go past 200 runs.
Onus will be on the LSG bowlers to come out and pick wickets early against a side that doesn’t have Travis Head in their line-up. William O Rourke who is making his IPL debut will be under focus along with the likes of Avesh Khan, Digvesh Rathi, and Akash Deep.
