Star Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter and skipper Mohammad Rizwan got dismissed bizarrely against New Zealand in the ongoing Final of the ODI tri-nation series. New Zealand pacer William O’Rourke bowled a cross-seam delivery which happened to be in a natural variation. The ball jagged off the pitch and the ball eventually went straight into the leg stump taking the inside edge of the Pakistan skipper’s bat.

Rizwan was visibly disappointed and frustrated after getting dismissed with an attempt of ‘nervous shot’ on an unplayable delivery from the New Zealand pacer. 

Furthermore, Rizwan’s dismissal also happened to leave a Pakistan fan girl upset and disappointed with the shot selection of the skipper. The video of this unexpected dismissal of the well-settled batter Mohammad Rizwan also went viral on social media as soon as it was shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter).

Speaking of the action of the tri-nation series Final between Pakistan and New Zealand, the hosts Pakistan have been bundled out at the score of 242 runs in 49.3 overs. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan and all-rounder Salman Agha played the crucial knocks of 46 and 45 runs off 76 and 65 balls, respectively.

Besides these two, the middle-order batter Tayyab Tahir also played an important knock of 38 runs off 33 balls, with 4 fours and a six. Opener and former skipper Babar Azam also scored 29 runs off 34 balls, with 4 fours and a six. Later in the lower middle order, all-rounder Faheem Ashraf also scored 22 runs off 21 balls, with two fours.

Star New Zealand pacer William O’Rourke scalped 4 wickets at 43 runs in 9.3 overs, with an impressive economy rate of 4.52, alongside two wickets each bagged by Michael Bracewell and Mitchell Santner. Jacob Duffy and Nathan Smith also scalped a wicket each.

Now, the Blackcaps require 243 runs to win the ODI tri-nation series to go ahead with confidence in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025
