The stage is all set for the highly anticipated ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will be hosted jointly by Pakistan and UAE. The tournament is less than a week away as the hosts Pakistan will take on New Zealand in the tournament opener. The matches of the tournament will be played in three cities of Pakistan namely, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Karachi, alongside India’s matches in Dubai.

In the same line of events, the International Cricket Council (ICC) also announced the prize money for the prestigious cricket quadrennial.

Here’s a look at prize money for Champions Trophy 2025:

The champion of the ninth edition of the Champions Trophy 2025 will get $ 2.24 Million (INR 19.46 crores) while the runners up will receive $ 1.12 Million (INR 9.73 crores). The losing teams in the semi-finals will get $ 560,000 each (INR 4.86 crores).

“The ICC Men's Champions Trophy 2025 represents a pivotal moment for cricket, reviving a tournament that highlights the pinnacle of ODI talent, where every match is critical. The substantial prize pot underscores the ICC's ongoing commitment to investing in the sport and maintaining the global prestige of our events,” said ICC Chairman Jay Shah on the occasion of revealing the prize money for the tournament.

“Beyond the financial incentive, this tournament ignites fierce competition, captivates fans worldwide, and plays a vital role in fostering the growth and long-term sustainability of cricket for future generations,” he added later.

Notably, the Champions Trophy is making a return in the international cricket after a long wait of 8 years since it was played last in 2017 in England. Sarfraz Ahmed-led Pakistan won the title, defeating the arch-rivals India by a massive 180-run margin. 

In the 2025 edition, the eight participating teams in the tournament are divided into two groups.India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and New Zealand are placed in Group A while Afghanistan, England, Australia, and South Africa are in Group B.
