Royal Challenger Bengaluru (RCB) could score just 163 runs inn their Indian Premier League (IPL) game against Delhi Capitals (DC). At one stage it looked like RCB were set for a big score after scoring 53 for no loss after the first three over. Kuldeep Yadav and the rest of Delhi bowlers then put the breaks on RCB’s scoring. The home team could score only 110 runs from 17 overs for the loss of seven wickets after their blazing start.

Kuldeep Yadav bowled four overs and picked two wickets for 17 runs. The left-arm spinner first got the wicket of Jitesh Sharma who tried to play the ball to leg side. Jitesh could only get the edge of his bat as the ball lobbed up and KL Rahul did the rest. RCB’s wicketkeeper was out after scoring three runs from 10 balls.

The next wicket was the big one of skipper Rajat Patidar who was batting on 25 as he went for a sweep shot. Patidar couldn’t time the ball well and KL Rahul took yet another neat catch to give Yadav his second wicket. RCB skipper scored his runs off 23 balls with one four and a six in his knock.

Tim David’s late flourish helps RCB reach decent total

Phil Salt got the innings off to a great start yet again before he was run-out for 37 runs. Virat Kohli scored 22 runs and played a loose shot to be dismissed by Vipraj Nigam as Mitchell Starc took a neat catch. Devdutt Padikkal was out after scoring just one run when Mukesh Kumar had him caught by Axar Patel.

Mohit Sharma then got into the wicket taking act when he dismissed Liam Livingstone for four runs. Krunal Pandya who had picked four wickets in the last game scored 18 runs from 18 balls as he was dismissed by Nigam to give Ashutosh Sharma his second catch.

Tim David was not out on 37 off just 20 balls with two boundaries and four huge sixes. This helped RCB reach 163 on the board after being in trouble at one stage. It seemed like RCB will struggle to reach 150 but David hit Axar Patel and Mukesh Kumar for couple of sixes to give a decent final flourish to the innings.
