Trinbago Knight Riders skipper Kieron Pollard stunned the crowd as he turned to bowl off-spin on Sunday. The incident occurred during the game against Guyana Amazon Warriors with Gudakesh Motie and Imran Tahir batting in the 18th over. That was the only over bowled by Pollard as he gave away 12 runs.
Guyana Amazon Warriors lost the match by a huge margin of 74 runs. This was the final game of the league phase matches. The playoff stages will witness Guyana and Trinbago Knight Riders being joined by Saint Lucia Kings and Barbados Royals.

The Warriors were set a target of 212 to win and were bowled out for 137 in the 19th over. Rahmanullah Gurbaz started well to score 36 off 28 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes. Shai Hope with 28 was the next best scorer while Gudakesh Motie (26) and Imran Tahir (20) put up decent scores.
Nicholas Pooran's ton drives TKR to 211 on the board
Opting to bat first, the Knight Riders lost opener Shaqkere Parris early for 3rd ball duck. Jason Roy and Nicholas Pooran then added 152 runs for the 2nd wicket. That stand came off 79 balls with Roy scoring just 34 runs in the stand.
The best batter for TKR was Nicholas Pooran who smashed 101 off 59 balls with 9 fours and 8 sixes. Jason Roy scored 34 off 26 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Both the batters were dismissed by Shamar Joseph who ended with 3 wickets.
The left-handed batter was given the man of the match for his amazing knock. Speaking at the end of the game, Pooran said, “It's not about being responsible or being fearless, I have worked on my execution, I wanted to dig deep and look for my matchup and execute my plans. I just love the environment here in Guyana, I have been playing here for a few years.”
The first eliminator game will witness Trinbago Knight Riders take on Barbados Royals. Winners from that game will face the losers from the game between Saint Lucia Kings and Guyana Amazon Warriors. CPL 2024 finals will be played on 6th October ending yet another amazing season of cricket.
