Pretoria Capitals beat Joburg Super Kings to breathe new life into their playoffs hopes in the ongoing SA20 league. The Capitals beat JSK by six wickets with eight overs to go in a key game that was played at the Centurion on Tuesday. Young Keagan Lion Cachet stole the show with his amazing run-out to dismiss Donovan Ferreira.
The incident happened on the fifth ball of the 16th over of the innings. Ferriera played the ball to the deep and completed a single and wanted to come back for a second run. Keagan Lion Cachet, who was fielding near the boundary, picked up the ball and threw it towards the batter's end.

Donovan Ferriera was caught short of his crease as the ball hit the stumps on the full. It was a key moment in the game for the Capitals side, who needed a win to stay alive in the tournament. Joburg could score just 99 runs on the board thanks to the disciplined bowling effort from the home side.
Pretoria Capitals record timely win against Joburg Super Kings
Put into bat first, Faf Du Plessis and Devon Conway began cautiously. Conway got injured when a shot from the blade of Du Plessis hit him flush on his arm. The Kiwi batter took some time off as he went off the field. JSK’s skipper was the first man out as he fell to Tom Rogers for 14 runs.
Jonny Bairstow was the best batter for JSK, with 30 off 32 balls with two fours and a six. Migael Pretorius was the leading wicket taker for the Capitals with three wickets, while debutant Gideon Peters and veteran spinner Senuran Muthusamy picked two wickets apiece.
Chasing 100 runs to win, the Capitals got to the target with eight overs left. Marques Ackermann’s 39 was the top score of the game, while Lutho Sipamla picked up three wickets for the visitors. The win now means the Capitals have 14 points from eight games, while JSK has 15 points from eight matches. The final two games of the season will be key for both sides if they have to qualify for the playoffs.
Skipper Faf Du Plessis was sad after the loss as he said, “Frustrating day for us, a day where a lot of things went wrong for us. We got bundled out for 100 and it was very easy for the opposition to chase it down.”
Meanwhile, Kyle Verreynne, who is leading the Capitals, said, “It's been a tough couple of days so I'm pleased to get the bonus point. We were nice and clinical with the ball and the guys finishing it off with the bat was pleasing. We only played two games at home earlier so it was good to come back.”
