Emotions ran high at the Chepauk stadium as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) took on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a key IPL 2025 game. SRH owner Kavya Maran was seen losing her cool watching Harshal Patel drop an easy catch. The incident in question occurred on the final ball of the seventh over with Zeeshan Ansari bowling to Ravindra Jadeja.
The left-handed batter went for a big shot and didn’t time the ball as Patel settled under the ball. It was at this moment that Kavya Maran was seen celebrating in what was supposed to a possible fourth wicket for her side. Much to the dismay of SRH’s expressive owner, the veteran Indian bowler dropped the catch. Kavya Maran could be seen coming up with an angry reaction at the callous approach shown on the field.
Chennai Super Kings batted first after Pat Cummins won the toss and scored 154 runs before being bowled out. The best batter for the home side was debutant Dewald Brevis, who scored 42 runs from 25 balls. Kamindu Mendis took an amazing catch to get rid of the South African youngster. Harshal Patel made amends for his dropped chance as he picked 4/28 from his four overs which also included the wicket of MS Dhoni for six runs.
SRH lose three early wickets in must win game
Needing 155 to win the game, Abhishek Sharma was out for a second-ball duck. The left-handed batter was surprised by the nippy delivery from Khaleel Ahmed. The SRH batter was caught by Ayush Mhatre for a second-ball duck to give the home team a great start to their bowling innings.
Australian batter Travis Head, who has been having a lean time with the bat, finally seemed to get going. The left-handed batter hit four boundaries in his knock of 19, which came off 16 balls. Just when Head was starting to look dangerous Anshul Kamboj castled him in the third ball of the sixth over.
Ravindra Jadeja then struck the biggest blow of the game when Heinrich Klaasen tried to smash the left-arm spinner straight down the ground. Deepak Hooda settled under the ball and completed an easy catch to leave SRH reeling at 54 for the loss of three wickets. Klaasen was out after scoring seven runs from eight balls with one hit to the fence.
