The incident in question occurred on the fifth ball of the 13th over with Harshal Patel bowling. Brevis, who had hit a six on the previous ball, tried to repeat the feat and hit the ball with tremendous power. Kamindu Mendis dove to his left and struck out both his hands and completed the catch like a football goalkeeper.

Each and every member of the SRH side ran to the Sri Lankan player to congratulate him for the catch. This grab will surely be in contention for the best catch of the IPL 2025 season. Even the commentators couldn’t stop raving about the stunning catch taken by Mendis and credited the player’s ambidextrous talents as one of the reasons for the tremendous grab.

Chennai Super Kings lose wickets at regular intervals

In what is a do or die game for both sides, it was SRH who held their own with the ball to take wickets at regular intervals. After the fall of Dewald Brevis for 42 runs it was Shivam Dube who was out for 12 when the left-handed batter went for a huge shot. Jaydev Unadkat’s slower ball saw Dube try heave the ball for a six but mistimed the shot as Abhishek Sharma settled under the ball to take a neat catch.

Kamindu Mendis did the star turn with the ball as well when his right-arm off spin bowling got the wicket of Ravindra Jadeja for 21. Mendis who can bowl with both his hands with ease bowled a quicker ball to Jadeja. CSK’s veteran star gave himself room and saw his stumps disturbed. Jadeja scored his 21 runs off 17 balls with the help of one four and one six.
