Team India came out with Jasprit Bumrah getting the team their early wicket in the T20 World Cup finals. The Indian side had scored 176 on the board after they won the toss and batted first. Virat Kohli was the best batter as he scored a crucial 76 runs with the bat.

Chasing 177 to win, Reeza Hendricks was batting on four when he came up against Jasprit Bumrah. The Indian bowler got the ball to swing into the batter and leave Hendricks at the last moment. The South African batter had no clue as he saw the top of his off-stump get disturbed to get India its first wicket.

For India, it was Axar Patel who turned the game on its head. The 30-year-old batted well to score 47 runs with the bat. 72 runs were added for the 4th wicket between Axar Patel and Virat Kohli in 9 overs to bring the men in blue back into the game.

South Africa loses two early wickets

Chasing 177 on a tricky wicket in Barbados wasn’t going to be easy for South Africa. After the loss of Reeza Hendricks, the Proteas were dealt another blow when skipper Aiden Markram was out for 4.

Arshdeep Singh got the ball to move away from the batter as the South African skipper got a thick edge. Rishabh Pant did the rest as the Indian side was over the moon after getting their second wicket.

Quinton De Kock and Tristan Stubbs then came together as they took the attack to the Indian bowlers. both batters played some fantastic shots as the boundaries kept coming and the run-rate was kept in check.

The fifty came up in the 1st ball of the 8th over when Stubbs hit Kuldeep Yadav straight down the ground. The onus will be on the two batters with David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen set to follow.

Meanwhile, the 176 scored by India is the best in a T20 World Cup final. The previous best was 173/2 by Australia during the 2021 tournament which was won by Aaron Finch and his side.
