The Mumbai Indians registered a thrilling 12-run win over the Delhi Capitals on Sunday in the 29th game of the ongoing IPL 2025. The last three run-outs of DC in the second innings happened to be one of the major highlights of this blockbuster encounter. Besides that, MI bowlers produced an amazing performance while defending the target against DC’s star studded batting lineup.

Meanwhile, what attracted the headlines after the game was a wholesome interaction involving star MI pacer Jasprit Bumrah, alongside DC skipper Axar Patel and the veteran DC batter KL Rahul. During this interaction, Bumrah can be seen mocking Axar Patel by mimicking his dismissal as it was only Bumrah who dismissed Axar Patel in the second innings. Following Bumrah’s hilarious mimicking style, Axar and KL also responded with smiles.

The video also went viral on social media as soon as it was shared by Delhi Capitals on their official X handle (formerly Twitter).

Here’s the video:

Speaking of the action of the game, the hosts’ skipper Axar Patel, won the toss and asked the Mumbai Indians to bat first. Batting first, the visitors posted a big total of 205 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Tilak Varma scored a crucial half-century, scoring 59 runs off 33 balls, with six fours and three sixes.

Besides him, wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Rickleton and Suryakumar Yadav also contributed with knocks of 41 and 40 runs, respectively followed by Naman Dhir’s blistering 38 runs off just 17 balls, with three fours and two sixes. Vipraj Nigam and Kuldeep Yadav scalped 2 wickets each for DC in the first innings, alongside a wicket bagged by Mukesh Kumar.

While chasing the target, DC had a shaky start as they lost their first wicket on the first ball of the second innings without any runs. However, Abhishek Porel and Karun Nair took Delhi in a strong winning position with an amazing 119-run partnership for the second wicket. Karun Nair scored 89 runs off just 40 balls, with 12 fours and five sixes, alongside Porel’s 33 runs off 25 balls, with three fours and a six.

This partnership couldn’t be enough for DC to win the game as MI made a stunning comeback owing to the brilliant bowling by spinners, Karn Sharma and Mitchell Santner. Sharma scalped 3 wickets at 36 runs in his 4 overs, alongside Santner who scalped 2 wickets. Besides these two, star pacers, Jasprit Bumrah and Deepak Chahar also claimed a wicket each.

On the back of these bowling performances, MI won the game by 12 runs to keep their hopes alive in the tournament and hand DC their first defeat in the current season, that too at their home ground in Delhi.
