Indian batter Karun Nair made an amazing return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Delhi Capitals (DC) vs Mumbai Indians (MI). The 33-year-old scored 89 runs and put his team in complete command while chasing the 206-run score set by Mumbai. There was a heated moment in the game between Karun Nair and MI pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

Nair was seen taking a single and running into Bumrah, which didn’t please the bowler. The batter was quick to put his hands up and apologise, but Bumrah wasn’t having it. Bumrah could be seen heading over to Nair and having a stern word when the two teams were in the middle of a short break.

For his part, Karun Nair was seen explaining what happened to MI skipper Hardik Pandya, who patted the batter on his back. Rohit Sharma could be seen standing in the background and nodding his head playfully. In what was his first IPL game of the season, Nair had gone after Bumrah and hit the pacer for boundaries. T

Deepak Chahar got MI their first wicket of the game when he got the scalp of Jake Fraser-McGurk for a golden duck. The pair of Nair and Abhishek Porel then began attacking the MI bowlers as the duo added 119 runs for the second wicket. Nair then reached his fifty off just 22 balls as DC scored 72 for one from six overs.

Karn Sharma, who came in as the impact player, changed the game for MI by first dismissing Porel. The left-handed batter went for a huge hit and saw Naman Dhir take a fantastic running catch. Mitchell Santner then bowled the ball of the tournament to dismiss Karun Nair as the batter saw the ball turn past his bat and hit the top of off stump. Nair was out after scoring 89 off 40 balls with 12 fours and five sixes.

Axar Patel began his innings with a four off Bumrah; the bowler had the last laugh as the DC skipper fell to a soft dismissal for nine runs. Karn Sharma then got the wickets of Tristan Stubbs and KL Rahul to end his night with figures of 3/36 from four overs.
