Mumbai Indians (MI) camp was filled with renewed optimism as Jasprit Bumrah made his long-awaited return to the side. The 31-year-old is set to play the Indian Premier League (IPL) game for MI versus Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Monday. The Wankhede Stadium is set to witness their favourite star back in action after missing the first four games of the season.

The franchise put out a short video on their social media handle where former batter Kieron Pollard was seen lifting Bumrah. In the video, Pollard could be seen telling “Welcome, Mufasa” to Bumrah and lifting his former teammate much to the amazement of others. The Indian pacer had a huge smile on his face as he finally made his return to cricket after three months.

In another video that was doing the rounds, Bumrah could be seen bowling to former MI skipper Rohit Sharma. The duo were engaged in high-intensity practice ahead of the massive game versus RCB on Monday. It is a huge encounter for Mumbai, who would want to win the game and keep in pace with the leading pack of the IPL 2025 table.

Former Sri Lankan captain and current MI coach finally confirmed that Bumrah and Rohit are set to play against RCB. When asked about Bumrah, the former Lankan skipper said, “He is available. He is training today, so he should be available.”

In his response to the question about Rohit Sharma, MI’s coach said, “Rohit looks good. He is going to bat today as well. We were travelling yesterday. He will have a hit today so we will do an assessment on that.” Rohit had missed the game against Lucknow due to injury.

With Bumrah now back in the team, there will be questions asked about who the 31-year-old could replace. Deepak Chahar hasn’t had a great start to the season but the right-arm pacer could be given a few more games to prove his worth. It is likely that the axe could fall on Ashwani Kumar, who made an amazing debut for MI versus Kolkata last Monday.
