Match number 65 in the IPL 2025 season saw Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batters make merry against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) bowlers. Wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan, who had begun the season with a masterful ton, finally regained his form with the bat. Ishan Kishan scored a brilliant fifty to put his team in the driver's seat in the penultimate game of the season.

Krunal Pandya came on to bowl the 12th over of the innings and Kishan welcomed him with a huge six. The left-arm spinner bowled a shortish ball outside the leg-stump and Kishan employed the sweep shot for a massive six. Kishan had come out to bat at number three after the loss of Abhishek Sharma for 34 runs.

The first wicket stand between Sharma and Travis Head was 54 runs in just four overs. Sharma was the first man out as he mistimed a shot to give Lungi Ngidi his maiden wicket of the game. Veteran seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was smashed for a huge six by Sharma, got the wicket of his former teammate Travis Head in the next over.

RCB bowlers put under pressure by SRH batters

Suyash Sharma was given his first over, which saw 12 runs being scored. The young leg-spinner was hit for a four and six by Heinrich Klaasen, who was starting to assert his authority. Kishan then hit Suyash for two successive fours in his second over while Klaasen also hit a four. Suyash kept his cool when Klaasen’s attempted big shot was caught by Shepherd as the batter was out after scoring 24 off just 13 balls.

Young Aniket Verma came out to bat and continued the assault on Suyash with two sixes and one four in a single over. Aniket then hit Pandya for his third six of the innings before holing out to Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 26 runs, which came off just nine balls.

At the end of 16 overs, SRH were placed at 177 for the loss of five wickets and a total in upwards of 200 was within reach. RCB bowlers had a day to forget since each and every Hyderabad batter had come out with positive intent in mind. RCB fans will hope the likes of Phil Salt and Virat Kohli can give their team a good start in what looks like a huge total to chase.
