Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Abhishek Sharma came out all guns blazing in the IPL 2025 game on Friday night. The left-handed batter gave his side a brisk start with the bat in the game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Ekana Stadium. Abhishek, who had scored a brisk fifty in the last match, broke the windscreen of the tournament sponsor’s car.

The incident happened on the fifth ball of the second over of the game bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar. The veteran pacer bowled a short ball on the off-stump and the batter got into perfect position. Sharma pulled the ball over the deep mid-wicket region for a huge six. When the replays were shown, it was seen that the ball had thudded into the windscreen, making a huge dent.

Jitesh Sharma won the toss as he replaced Rajat Patidar as the captain of the side. Patidar will be playing as a pure batter later in the game after being named in the impact player’s bench. Mayank Agarwal came in for Devdutt Padikkal, while SRH made three changes to their side that included the return of Travis Head.

Yash Dayal was given the task of bowling the opening over of the game. The left-arm seamer was driven through the covers for a boundary by Travis Head as eight runs came off the over. Bhuvneshwar Kumar saw Head hit him for a four off his first ball and then give the strike to Sharma for the final three balls of the over.

24-year-old SRH opener began his onslaught with two successive fours before hitting the huge six. Sharma continued his assault when he smashed Dayal for a four and survived a close caught behind appeal as the bowler had delivered a no-ball. RCB’s bowler was then smashed straight over his head for a six as SRH raced to 39 for no loss after three overs.

With a six off Lungi Ngidi in the third ball of the fourth over, Sharma helped his side reach 50 runs. The South African pacer had the last laugh when Abhishek Sharma was caught by Phil Salt in the deep square leg region for 34 off 17 balls. Bhuvneshwar Kumar then got the key wicket of Travis Head for 17 caught by Romario Shepherd. SRH ended their powerplay with the score reading 71 for the loss of two wickets.
