In his over two-decade career, Dhoni’s parents or his family members haven’t come to watch him play. This was a surprising move as Dhoni’s retirement in the middle of the season could be a huge blow for CSK. The 43-year-old has been at the center of constant questioning over his poor form with the bat.
While there has been no confirmation about the news, fans are eagerly waiting for the end of the game to know if it’s the end of the road for the famous number 7 in Indian cricket.

Axar Patel won the toss and chose to bat first against Chennai Super Kings. In the first over of the game, Delhi lost their opening Jake Fraser- McGurk for a duck as he holed out to Ashwin to give Khaleel Ahmed the breakthrough. Abhishek Porel and KL Rahul added 54 runs for the second wicket in just 36 balls.
Porel played aggressively as he hit 19 runs from a single over off Mukesh Chaudhary. The 22-year-old was out after scoring 33 runs from just 20 balls with the help of four boundaries and a six. Ravindra Jadeja broke the stand when Porel was caught by Pathirana to give the home fans something to cheer about.
Axar Patel came out to bat at number four and began his innings with a six off Jadeja. Delhi Capitals played a cameo to score 21 runs from 14 balls with two fours and a six before he was out castled by Noor Ahmad in the 11th over.
KL Rahul who opened the batting was at his best with the bat as he scored his first fifty of the season. As the second time-out was taken, Delhi were placed at 146 for three with Rahul batting on 68 with Sameer Rizvi on 20 off 14 balls.
