Even though he recently bowled some incredible deliveries in the County Championship, Arshdeep hasn't always performed well at home. He was not included in the BGT squad since the selectors were not impressed by his performances in the Duleep Trophy or the Ranji Trophy season.

Although supporters feel that Arshdeep should have been taken into consideration due to his recent success in the County Championship, the selection process has always involved striking a balance between the demands of the national team and reliable domestic results. Fans are questioning why Arshdeep Singh was left out of India's squad for the 2024 Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) in Australia after seeing the video of this incredible ball go viral.

Arshdeep Singh's absence created a noticeable void for India

India did not play well against Australia in the 2024–2025 BGT. Despite the heroics of Jasprit Bumrah, who took 32 wickets and was the series' highest wicket-taker, India's speed attack lacked the consistency needed to contend with Australia's strong batting lineup. Many believed that Arshdeep's participation may have given the attack a new dimension, especially in Australia's difficult conditions, as there was no left-arm pacer in the squad.

India lost 3-1 in the BGT, and the other seamers didn't play well, and Arshdeep's absence created a noticeable void. Additionally, India's batting problems made matters worse, and even with Bumrah's best efforts, the seam department's lack of a solid support cast proved costly. Supporters have quickly noted that Arshdeep's dual-way movement would have been useful against the Australian batting lineup, which is known for its bounce and speed.
