The young opener of Australia, Sam Konstas, had a few encounters with Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, which turned into an argument during the Border Gavaskar Trophy. One of the calmest people in the cricket world, Bumrah, lost his cool on Konstas in the fifth Test match in Sydney, leading to a war of words. Later, Bumrah dismissed Usman Khawaja and went straight to Konstas, who was at the non-striker's end and made eye contact.

Talking about the incident, Konstas revealed the reason why he argued with Bumrah during the game. "I feel like I love being in the contest and trying to put my best foot forward. I feel like it’s probably a good learning for me. I was trying to waste a little bit of time there so they didn’t get another over. But he had the last laugh. Obviously he is world-class, and he took, what, 32 wickets in the series. If that happened again, maybe I wouldn’t have said anything," said Konstas.

Since the time Konstas made his debut in the Test team, he had just one motive: to go after Jasprit Bumrah. The 19-year-old batter was successful with his approach in his debut innings, where he scored 60 runs off 65 balls. He hit 14 runs against Bumrah in an over. However, the youngster failed to create much impact in the rest of the games.

I had a little chat after the game: Sam Konstas

Sam Konstas is a huge fan of Virat Kohli and admires him. On his debut, he had a fight with Kohli as well, but that didn't affect his love and devotion for the player. He spoke about how much he and his family love the iconic player and revealed the conversation he had with him after the game.

Konstas said, "I had a little chat after the game, telling him that I idolise him, and it’s obviously a huge honour playing against him. When I did verse him, I was like, ‘wow, Virat Kohli is batting.’ He just had that presence about him, all the Indian crowd getting amongst it. Chanting his name. It was quite surreal. He was very down to earth. A lovely person and just wishing me all the best, saying hopefully I go well on the tour of Sri Lanka, he said if I’m in."
