The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) put out a short video of the training ahead of the Pink Ball Test in Adelaide. In the video, some of the fast bowlers could be seen giving their views on the ball that is set to be used for the game. India were famously bowled out for just 36 the last time they played at this venue.

Prasidh Krishna, while speaking to BCCI, said, “The pink ball is slightly bigger than the red one. The seam is dyed black, which makes it heavier and more pronounced. This gives the ball a lot more seam movement.” Mukesh Kumar, who is part of the travelling reserves, said, “The seam is not very visible. Some batters rely on the shine of the ball, but with the pink ball, the shinier side isn’t easily visible.”

Akash Deep, who didn’t play the Perth Test, said, “The ball is skidding a lot, which makes it tough for the batters. There’s also a lot of bounce, and the ball remains fresh for much longer. Unlike the red ball, which tends to get old after five to six overs, the pink ball stays lively.”

Meanwhile, left-arm pacer Yash Dayal, who is also part of the reserves, chimed in and said, “I bowled to Virat Bhaiya and Rohit Bhaiya, and I noticed the pink ball doesn’t swing much. The key is to maintain the seam position straight. When you pitch it in the right areas, it deviates on its own, which is a big advantage.”

Scott Boland warns Team India ahead of second Test

Australian pace bowler Scott Boland has revealed that the Australian team has figured out the way to stifle India’s batters. The right-arm pacer is in line for a comeback to replace Josh Hazlewood who is out of the game due to injury.

CRICBUZZ quoted the Aussie bowler who said, “We've spoken as a team about our plans for all the different Indian batters. I won't tell you those, but we've got pretty set plans. They might have a little bit of a tweak after the guys have seen them again from Perth, because obviously Yashasvi Jaiswal batted really well there. KL Rahul batted well in the second dig as well and really dug in. So we'll probably have a chat over the next week and our plans might slightly change, but I'm pretty confident what we did in the first game was good."

The veteran during his chat with the media also said, “I probably thought maybe the opportunity had passed, but I've worked really hard in the off-season to get my body in a spot where I'm confident that if I get another chance I'll be able to perform it for Australia again.”
