Delhi Capitals owner Kiran Kumar Gandhi has always remained on the news during the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction for one reason: he bids on several players to increase the price for other franchises and then backs out. This has been a trend for a while now and in this ongoing IPL auction, he did the same thing. He went all in for  Shreyas Iyer but backed out in the end when the price reached INR 25 crores.

However, he made a steal deal with KL Rahul and grabbed him for INR 14 crores only. While players like Mohammed Siraj went for INR 12.25 crores, Rahul deserved better. The player is a captaincy material and DC will give him the responsibility to handle the team in the IPL 2025.

Rahul was a part of LSG last year but had to leave then due to differences with the co-owner Sanjiv Goenka. Now, they have brought in Rishabh Pant for INR 27 crores in the hope of making him the captain. Pant was with DC last year as their captain. So, it has been an unofficial swap between these two teams in terms of their captains.

DC used RTM card for Jake Fraser-McGurk

The Delhi Capitals have their opening combination sorted with KL Rahul and Jake Fraser-McGurk in their team. They have used their RTM card to get Jake back into the team. DC made a steal deal with both players for iNR 14 and 9 crores, respectively.

Now they will concentrate more on collecting some great bowlers and all-rounders to build their team. DC haven't won a single trophy yet and will be looking forward to doing that in the 18th season of the IPL. They will try to build a good team for the upcoming year.
