Pakistani pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi was recently taking the sights and sounds of New York when he encountered a group of Indian fans. On spotting the Pakistani player the group went up and had a very funny conversation ahead of the India vs Pakistan encounter.

One fan in particular could be heard saying that Shaheen Shah Afridi must befriend Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. This evoked huge laughter from the other Indian fans in the group as even Shaheen Afridi broke into a smile. All the fans then took a few pictures with the pacer who was seen enjoying the chat.

The game on Sunday will be the 8th time that India and Pakistan are meeting in the T20 World Cup. Pakistan are coming into the game on the back of their loss to United States of America in the super over, while India began with a win over Ireland.

Dinesh Karthik calls out Babar Azam after loss to USA

Former Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik was recently in conversation with CRICBUZZ where he showed his displeasure with Pakistan skipper Babar Azam. The 39-year-old said “As a leader, you need to find a way to be diplomatic in press conferences, somehow find a way to back your players”. The statement came after Babar Azam had openly called out his players post the loss to USA.

Dinesh Karthik also said “inside the four walls of the dressing room, you can say what you want and have a go at a few people. But you need to find a way to back your players, it is one thing to be honest, another thing to try and understand the dynamics”

The 39-year-old further said “I fear Pakistan players reading it, which they will be, will feel ‘he’s letting us down’. The way he has conducted himself on the field, having a go after the boundaries or shoulders dropping, isn’t signs of a good leader”

Babar Azam was the top scorer with 44 runs during the game against USA but many felt that he was very slow in getting the runs. The 29-year-old had scored a fifty against India the last time the two teams had met in Ahmedabad during the ODI World Cup in 2023.
