Yashasvi Jaiswal's ODI debut wasn't memorable in terms of batting, but he certainly lifted the team's spirit with his fielding efforts. He took a stunning catch while running backwards to dismiss Ben Duckett in the first ODI against England. Duckett was in brilliant form, and with that catch, Jaiswal also helped fellow debutant Harshit Rana secure his first international wicket in ODIs.

After the game, during a lighthearted conversation, Rana revealed that fielding coach T Dilip had asked him what he would have done if he had been in Jaiswal's place. Rana humorously told this to Axar Patel, "Agar mai Yashasvi ki jagah hota, toh catch le leta." He was outstanding with the ball, taking three wickets in seven overs, making his debut even more special.

Economically, he was a bit expensive, but that didn't matter since India had consistent breakthroughs. Even Ravindra Jadeja claimed three wickets, extending a helping hand to the newcomer. India won the first game by four wickets, taking a lead in the series.

It's never really about economy: Aakash Chopra

Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra backed Harshit Rana and his performance after the completion of the game against England. Rana, who was expensive in his spell, picked up three crucial wickets, helping India seal the game. Rana will be quite helpful to India in the upcoming times if he continues to perform well.

"It’s never really about economy. Harshit Rana was the most expensive Indian bowler, but he got three crucial wickets and in many ways, sealed the game for India to win at the halfway stage," said Aakash Chopra in his YouTube video.
