India are celebrating its 78th Independence Day today and on this historic occasion, the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) was all decked up for the celebrations in Australia. It was an event hosted by the Indian Consulate General in Melbourne along with the members of Cricket Australia. The event started with the National Anthem of India and was further celebrated with a lot of excitement.

The Olympic Room in the stadium was also decorated with Indian flags, creating a beautiful atmosphere for the people present there. This initiative showed people's love for India and how other nations look upon the country. Moreover, the Indian flag was displaced on the digital scoreboard screen inside the stadium.

The sight was truly divine to watch.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 to start in November

India will be travelling to play the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 starting on November 22. The 5-match Test series will mark the rivalry between both countries. It was India who won the previous series in 2022-23 and now the Aussies will be looking to take their revenge. This series falls under the WTC cycle, so the players will have to be extra careful not to make any silly mistakes.

The best part about the series will be the contest between the Indian batters and the lethal Aussie bowlers. India is at the top of the WTC points table, but Australia isn't far behind and can threaten Men in Blue. However, the fun and excitement in the series will be intact since it's India vs Australia or you can say it's Virat Kohli vs Australia, considering the history.
