South African wicketkeeper batter Heinrich Klaasen ended his IPL 2025 season with a century on Sunday. Klaasen scored 37-ball century in the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) game at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. Both sides were already eliminated from the playoff places and were just playing for pride.
Klaasen, came out to bat at the fall of Abhishek Sharma’s wicket in the final ball of the seventh over. The 33-year-old began to take full toll of conditions on offer as he hit KKR bowlers to all parts of the ground. The South African star reached his fifty off just 17 balls to put SRH in a strong position to reach a huge total.
With two runs in the final ball of the 19th over, Klaasen registered his second IPL ton. In the SRH scored 278 on the board for the loss of three wickets from their 20 overs. The 33-year-old was not out on 105 which came off just 39 balls with the help of seven boundaries and nine sixes.
Travis Head leads SRH to solid start with the bat
Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bat first in what is his last game of the IPL 2025 season. Right from the first over, Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head went after the KKR bowlers and scored runs at will. The first over of the innings went for just two runs as the next over bowled by Anrich Nortje produced 20 runs. The fifty was brought up in the fourth over as SRH ended their powerplay with the score on 79 for no loss.
KKR got their first wicket of the day when Sunil Narine dismissed Abhishek Sharma for 32 off 16 balls. The left-handed batter hit four boundaries and two sixes in his knock that saw SRH reach close to 100 inside eight overs. Travis Head didn’t stop as he kept scoring boundaries with ease.
The Australian batter was out to Narine caught by Andre Russell in the fourth ball of the 13th over. Travis Head, was out after scoring 76 off just 40 balls with six boundaries and give maximums. Ishan Kishan (29) and Aniket Verma (12*) gave Klaasen good support to hel the South African star reach his ton.
