Before the crucial knockout phases of the Champions Trophy 2025 begin on March 4, Kohli will be eager to maintain his batting form, even if India has already advanced to the Champions Trophy semi-finals. Before the 50-over encounter against New Zealand, Kohli and India's coach Gautam Gambhir, however, delved deeply into their Delhi roots and shared what it means to them to be Delhi da Munda (Delhi boy).
Ahead of his 300th One-Day International, Virat Kohli talked candidly about being a "Delhi da Munda" and what it takes to live a stress-free life. "I don't know if I'm a prototypical Delhi da Munda at all times. Being a Delhi da Munda, the line in itself kind of means having a stress-free approach towards things. New experiences in life went to a lot of places, so I wouldn't say that I'm out and out always a Delhi boy. In moments, I am, yes," Kohli said in a video posted by ICC on Instagram.

The Delhi spirit is very simple - Gautam Gambhir
In the video, Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of India and a native of Delhi, went on to say that the basic ethos of the state is to always aim to win when you get onto the field. "The Delhi spirit is very simple: try and win each time you walk onto the cricket field. That's what has been taught to us when we were growing up in Delhi," Gautam Gambhir said.
The last group stage match of the ongoing major event in Dubai will pit India against New Zealand. In addition to settling the semi-final permutations, the two nations are vying for the top position in Group A.
