The star LSG batter Nicholas Pooran recently came up with a big statement while speaking about the concerns of foreign players playing in India, especially in the ongoing IPL 2025. Notably, the Southpaw is currently in action for LSG in the tournament’s current season. He is set to be in action for his side again after the resumption of the tournament.

Meanwhile, there have been a lot of questions, debates and discussions around the availability and return of overseas players to India for the remainder of the tournament. It all started when the tournament was suspended by the BCCI due to the escalated cross-border rifts between India and Pakistan, and foreign players flew back to their respective countries.

In the same line of events, a lot of foreign players returned to India after the authorities confirmed the resumption of the ‘suspended’ IPL 2025. But some players had to miss out on the rest of the tournament, owing to their national commitments or personal reasons.

“I'm not at all worried about playing here. I've always loved playing the IPL and playing in India. As the tournament will start again after a break, and I wish to continue my form to contribute to my team’s success,” said Nicholas Pooran to Dainik Jagran.

Furthermore, Pooran also spoke about his journey with LSG and shared his experience of playing under the captaincy of Rishabh Pant.

“My journey with LSG has been very good, it’s a special franchise. Though it’s a new team but the way the team owner and management take care of the players is commendable. I have also played for other franchises, but LSG is a much better side. Talking about Rishabh [Pant], he is an amazing skipper and a player. He is always there to help on and off the field. Having him in the team is a very good thing,” he said.

Pooran is currently the leading run-scorer for his side in the ongoing IPL 2025, scoring 410 runs in 11 innings, with an amazing average of 41.00. He has also scored four half-centuries with the bat, alongside having a brilliant strike rate of 200.98.
