MI vs SRH: Hardik Pandya no-ball to Travis Head Photograph: (X)
Hardik Pandya and his Mumbai Indians (MI) side bowled their heart out to keep Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batters quiet. Travis Head, who had demolished MI’s bowlers in the last few Indian Premier League (IPL) games, saw his run-scoring get shackled thanks to Mumbai Indians’ bowlers.
On the fourth ball of the tenth over, Hardik Pandya produced a mistimed shot off Head’s bat. Will Jacks, who was fielding at the mid-wicket region, took an easy catch. This is when Pandya’s joy turned to despair as the no-ball sirens began to blare. On-field umpire stuck to the decision despite some confusion. The TV replays showed that Pandya had overstepped the line and the resulting free hit produced just a single.

It seemed the decision to bowl first after winning the toss paid off for Hardik Pandya. Wankhede which is known for his pitch favoring the batters saw runs hard to come by. While Abhishek Sharma was scoring boundaries at regular intervals, Travis Head was struggling to find his timing.
Will Jacks double strike hurts Sunrisers Hyderabad
English cricketer Will jacks earned the ire of many fans when he dropped Abhishek Sharma in the first ball of the game. The 29-year-old though was effective with the ball as he took two key wickets for Mumbai Indians on Thursday. Former MI star Ishan Kishan gave Jacks the charge and was beaten in the flight. Ryan Rickelton did the rest as he whipped off the bails to dismiss Kishan for two runs.
Travis Head who survived a dismissal earlier in the innings was finally put out of his misery. Jacks induced the batter to play a big shot and Head obliged as he tried to hit the bowler for a huge six. In the end it was will Jacks who had the last laugh as Head was caught by Mitchell Santner for 28 runs. Head’s knock came off 29 balls with the help of three hits to the fence.
SRH’s struggles with the bat continued as they reached the 100 mark in the 15th over. Karn Sharma’s injury earlier in the game meant that Jacks was given three overs to bowl. The 29-year-old repaid his captain’s faith to help Mumbai Indians keep a strange hold over SRH’s batters.
