Former legendary India batter and 1983 World Champion batter, Sunil Gavaskar, was seen dancing out of ecstasy after Rohit Sharma’s India clinched the historic ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title. The 75-year-old former cricketing legend danced like a young kid when Team India was celebrating the trophy on the podium after beating New Zealand in the final by a 4-wicket margin.

Speaking of the action of the historic and iconic Champions Trophy 2025 final between India and New Zealand, the Blackcaps batted first after winning the toss and scored 251 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell scored 63 and 53 runs, respectively. Besides these two, Rachin Ravindra and Glenn Phillips also played crucial knocks of 37 and 34 runs, respectively.

For India, Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav scalped 2 wickets each, alongside a wicket each picked by Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja.

While chasing the target, India got an amazing start of 105 runs by the opening pair of skipper Rohit Sharma and vice-captain Shubman Gill.

Rohit played a decisive and match-winning knock of 76 runs off 83 balls, with seven fours and three sixes, followed by Gill’s 31 runs, with a six.

Later in India’s run-chase, Shreyas Iyer (48 runs) and Axar Patel (29 runs) also stitched a crucial 61-run partnership for the fourth wicket when India lost their top three wickets in quick succession. Furthermore, KL Rahul’s unbeaten knock of 34 runs off 33 balls, with one four and a six, also played a vital role in helping India chase down the target comfortably in 49 overs, scoring 254 runs for the loss of 6 wickets to win the game by 4 wickets.
