Star India batter Shreyas Iyer played a crucial knock of 48 runs off 58 balls, with two fours and two sixes against New Zealand in the ongoing Champions Trophy 2025 Final against New Zealand. He played a vital role in helping India come near the target of 252 runs posted by New Zealand in the first innings.
Apart from his impactful 48-run knock, Iyer also attracted the eyeballs for the sensational six off Glenn Phillips. The six was so huge in the deep midwicket region that it went to a distance of 109 meters, bending on one knee.

Speaking of the action of the game, India clinched the historic Champions Trophy 2025 title, beating New Zealand by a margin of 4 wickets in the tournament’s final. The Men in Blue chased down the target of 252 runs comfortably, scoring 254 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 49 overs with an over to spare.
Skipper Rohit Sharma played a decisive captaincy knock of 76 runs off 83 balls, with seven fours and three sixes. Rohit also stitched an amazing and match-winning partnership of 105 runs for the first wicket with his deputy and star India batter Shubman Gill (31 runs off 50 balls, with a six).
Besides Rohit and Gill, Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul also scored 48 and 34 runs, respectively, alongside Axar Patel’s 29 runs and Hardik Pandya’s 18 runs.
Earlier in the first innings, the Blackcaps scored 251 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs, courtesy of 63 and 53 runs scored by Daryl Mitchell and Michael Bracewell. Rachin Ravindra and Glenn Phillips also scored 37 and 34 runs, respectively. Speaking of Indian bowlers, Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav scalped 2 wickets each, alongside a wicket each picked by Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja.
