Social Media is abuzz with a spectacular catch taken during a local club match during the Bunbury festival. Benjamin Sleeman has become an overnight celebrity after plucking one of the best catches seen in cricketing history. 

The incident took place when the batter hit the ball straight down the ground. Seeing the ball travel to the ropes for a certain six, Benjamin Sleeman put in a full-length dive and caught the ball. 

Both the batter and the non-striker were in complete shock as the non-striker had his hands on his head. The catch has become a viral sensation on social media and has garnered lots of likes and retweets. 

Indian stars shining in English domestic circuit

Meanwhile, the forgotten Indian stars Ajinkya Rahane and Prithvi Shaw are tearing the English domestic season with their blazing blades. Ajinkya Rahane is currently playing for Leicestershire and has been in great nick with the bat. 

The 36-year-old was able to score 243 runs from 7 games with an average of 40.5. The right-handed batter was also able to hit two half-centuries with his best of 71 coming against Nottinghamshire. 

Young Prithvi Shaw is currently playing for the Northamptonshire side and has scored 326 runs with an average of 46. The batter has hit three half-centuries with a best of 97 which came against Durham. 

Another star who is playing English domestic season is none other than Venkatesh Iyer. The 29-year-old has been disappointing with the bat so far for Lancashire having scored a mere 43 runs with an average of 10.75 and was able to pick just a single wicket. 

Most of the stars will be back in India as they would want to play the Duleep Trophy 2024 season. Earlier today it was reported that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be playing the initial few games of the tournament. 

Ajinkya Rahane in particular will be looking to use the tournament to try and force his comeback to the Indian side. With India set to play a five-match Test series in Australia the veteran batter and will want to put in performances to stake his claim in the team. Prithvi Shaw previously played for India in 2021 and in the recent few weeks, he has been in thick run-scoring form.
