The entire first session was lost on the third day of the 2nd Test match in Kanpur between India and Bangladesh. Despite the weather being clear, the ground is yet to get back to its best to fulfil the playing conditions. It has been frustrating for a lot of fans who had hoped to catch some action on Sunday.

One fan posted a video on social media where the entire ground could be seen under covers. The fan pointed out how there was no drainage system available at the Green Park Stadium. In the video, many fans can be seen patiently waiting for the game to start or some updates from the officials.

The fan also could be heard saying “The is no rain, had it been any other ground the covers would have been off. Even the water and all the damp patches would have been cleared off and the match would have started. This is horrible ground and I don’t think Kanpur will get any international game again."

BCCI under fire for second time inside 15 days

Despite being the richest board in the world, BCCI were called out for the pathetic situation that erupted recently. Afghanistan and New Zealand were supposed to play a one-off Test match in Noida.

The first two days of the game saw the ground being in pathetic condition with old age methods being used to dry the ground. Despite the sun shining bright, there was no play possible. The next three days saw constant rains which meant that the game was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

This was the first time in this century that a Test match was washed out even without the toss taking place. Afghanistan team management weren’t too happy with the way the events panned out. They even promised never to use Noida’s stadium ever again.

Even on Sunday, the first inspection was conducted at 10 AM. The umpires weren’t happy with some of the wet patches on the ground. Lunch was taken early with the 2nd inspection scheduled for 12 PM local time. As of this writing, the third inspection is set for 2 PM which means that early tea is in the offing and we would have lost 6 sessions by now. There is a good chance that the day could be abandoned to add more misery for the fans.
