The five-time champions and the joint-most successful team in the history of the Indian Premier League, Chennai Super Kings (CSK), shared a heartfelt video. In the recently posted video, CSK revealed and announced the ‘homecoming’ and ‘arrival’ of the former legendary India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin to the yellow camp.

CSK shared this video on Thursday, February 27, announcing the comeback of Ashwin in his home franchise. Notably, it was during the second edition of the tournament in 2009 that Ashwin started his IPL career with CSK.

Then, onwards, the veteran off-spinner appeared in 97 games for CSK and scalped 90 wickets, with a commendable economy rate of 6.46, including the best performance of ‘3 wickets at just 16 runs in a game’.

CSK, under the captaincy of Ruturaj Gaikwad, will start their IPL 2025 campaign with their campaign opener against the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians, at their home ground, Chepauk in Chennai.

Coming back to Ravichandran Ashwin, he announced his sudden retirement from all forms of international cricket during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2025 against Australia. However, he will be in action for his home franchise, Chennai Super Kings, in the upcoming Indian Premier League 2025. The franchise bought Ashwin for a big amount of INR 9.75 crores during the IPL 2025 mega-auction. 

Since then, Ashwin has been regular with cricket analysis videos on his YouTube channel ‘Ash ki Baat,' where he has made some big statements about the Indian Cricket Team and the veteran cricketers and his teammates, including the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

The 38-year-old ended his career as the second-leading wicket-taker for India in the Test, with 537 wickets, following the former legendary India spinner Anil Kumbl,e who had scalped 619 wickets.
