This comes down to the question if Dhoni has decided to hang up his boots after IPL 2025 in what could be swansong season. India’s former skipper stood down as the leader of CSK ahead of the 2024 season and Ruturaj Gaikwad was given the role. Under MSD, Chennai has won five IPL titles and two Champions League T20 titles.

Chennai Super Kings’ camp set to begin from Thursday

Sportstar reported that Chennai Super Kings are set to begin their camp for the coming season of IPL on Thursday. Sportstar spoke to CSK’s CEO Kasi Viswanathan who said, “It is at the High Performance Centre. We are planning for about 10 days. Indian players, whoever is available, are coming. Dhoni is also participating. Usual practice.”

Chennai Super Kings are set to kick off their season with blockbuster match against rivals Mumbai Indians. If Dhoni does retire from IPL at the end of the season, fans across India will be waiting with bated breath to see the former India skipper for one last time. Dhoni will also want to end his campaign in style and help CSK win their sixth title.

Ruturaj Gaikwad arrived in Chennai and was given a rousing reception. CSK skipper was later seen interacting with Dhoni as the two players shared a warm hug. MS Dhoni’s final game in Chennai is to be played on 12th May against Rajasthan Royals. If CSK qualifies for the playoffs, none of those matches will be played at the Chepauk stadium.
