On Thursday, when the Indian team was having an open bus parade, Rohit Sharma spotted a fan on the tree. The fan in question had climbed the tree and was seen clicking pictures of the cricketers. Rohit Sharma was then quick to ask the fan to get down and not hurt himself.

Most of the other Indian stars also then joined in asking the fan to get down from the tree. Rohit Sharma in his usual style was seen looking at the fan and presumably giving him a piece of his mind.

There was a massive turnout on the roads as the Indian cricketers made their way to Wankhede Stadium. The entire team then moved to the ground as they were given a grand welcome by the fans inside the ground.

Team India experiences an evening of a lifetime

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were given a rousing reception by the vast Mumbai fans. The biggest cheer was reserved for Hardik Pandya whose name was chanted by the fans.

Speaking to the crowd Rohit Sharma said “2007 was a different feeling. We started in the afternoon and this is in the evening. I cannot forget 2007 as it was my first World Cup. This is a little more special because I was leading the team. So it's a very proud moment for me. This is going to be mad”

The 37-year-old also said “You can make out the excitement and it shows how much it means, not just to us, but also the entire nation. It means a lot. I am very happy that we could achieve something like this for them as well."

Virat Kohli was given a huge cheer when he took the mic and the former India skipper said it was a day to remember for him personally. The 35-year-old who has retired from the format along with Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja is now off to London to spend some time with his family.

Team India will be in action on Saturday when they take on Zimbabwe in the first of 5 T20I matches. Shubman Gill will lead the side in the series and this is set to be followed by a tour of Sri Lanka.
