WATCH: Coordination fumble between Virat Kohli and Phil Salt results in latter's run-out against DC

RCB’s star opening duo of Phil Salt and former skipper Virat Kohli provided a strong and swashbuckling start of 61 runs for the first wicket in just 3.5 overs. However, this partnership ended in a very abrupt manner as the coordination between Kohli and Salt fumbled on the fifth ball of the fourth over in the first innings.

The unexpected moment for RCB came when Axar Patel was bowling to Salt; the DC skipper bowled a ‘back of a length’ delivery into the stumps, and Salt punched it towards the extra cover region where Vipraj Nigam collected the ball; Salt ran for a single but slipped back while returning to his crease after a fumble with Virat Kohli, who had also made it the half-way from the non-striker end.

The video of this unexpected run-out of Phil Salt following his confusion with Virat Kohli, also started making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter).

Speaking of the current action of the game, the RCB had scored 158 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 19.4 overs, having Tim David and Bhuvneshwar Kumar there in the middle with the individual scores of 33 runs and 1 run, respectively.

Earlier in the innings, Phil Salt played a quick knock of 37 runs off just 17 balls, with 4 fours and three sixes, followed by Virat Kohli’s 22 runs off just 14 balls, with one four and two sixes. Furthermore, skipper Rajat Patidar also scored 25 runs off 23 balls, with one four and a six.

Vipraj Nigam and Kuldeep Yadav have scalped 2 wickets each for DC in the first innings so far, alongside a wicket each picked by Mukesh Kumar and Mohit Sharma.The
