Ryan Rickelton pulled off the best catch of the IPL 2025 season in final ball of the 19th over. Boult saw Patidar try to play the ramp shot but couldn’t time the ball well as Rickelton was seen running keeping his eyes on the ball. The South African put in a full length dive and helped Boult dismiss Patidar for 64 runs. His knock came off just 32 balls with the help of five boundaries and four sixes.

Virat Kohli was the top scorer for RCB with 67 runs from 42 balls with the help of eight fours and two sixes. His first six was against Jasprit Bumrah in the bowlers second ball of his first over. Kohli then hit Vignesh Puthur for his second six to notch up his second fifty of the IPL 2025 season.

Massive challenge for Mumbai Indians batters

Jitesh Sharma played a pivotal knock in the final overs of the innings as he stayed not out on 40 off just 19 balls. Sharma hit two fours and four huge sixes to help RCB reach 221 for the loss of five wickets from their 20 overs. Trent Boult and Hardik Pandya picked two wickets each for their side.

Rohit Sharma who has been under woeful form at the start of the season will have to play a huge role with the bat. Sharma is the third highest run-getter versus RCB with 831 runs and just needs 34 runs to go past MS Dhoni who has 864 runs. The onus will also be on former RCB player Will Jacks, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and skipper Pandya himself.

Speaking at the mid-innings break, Kohli said, “That was pretty good. After losing a wicket on the second ball, we countered pretty nicely. Dev played a brilliant impact knock for us, really changed the momentum towards us. I got a few going as well. That partnership was really important for us to set that total on the board. My strength is to get my touch and feel of the ball early on, then I can play the shots I that I want to. I tried to innovate a bit, tried to play different shots off spin as well and then tried to hit different areas of the ground.”
