Delhi Capitals (DC) bowlers made a terrific comeback in the Indian Premier League (IPL) clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). At the end of the third over, RCB were placed at 53 for no loss to record the fastest team fifty in the current season. Virat Kohli, who had scored a fifty in the last game, was looking good for yet another big innings on Thursday.

Earlier in the day, Phil Salt began the game with a terrific assault against Mitchell Starc in the third over of the game. The English batter hit three fours and two sixes as the Aussie pacer bowled one of the costliest overs in the IPL 2025 season. Salt was run out for 37 off just 17 balls to give Delhi Capitals a huge opening back into the game.

Delhi Capitals bowlers make stunning comeback

The opening stand between Salt and Kohli had scored 61 runs in just 3.5 overs to give RCB an amazing start. Mukesh Kumar then deceived Devdutt Padikkal with a slower ball and the left-handed batter was out caught by Axar Patel for just one run from eight balls. When Virat Kohli fell in the seventh over, the home fans went into complete silence.

Rajat Patidar and Liam Livingstone then added 17 runs for the fourth wicket in 15 balls. Livingstone was out after scoring four runs when he was caught by Ashutosh Sharma to give Mohit Sharma his first wicket. Kuldeep Yadav then struck when he got the wicket of Jitesh Sharma for three runs off 10 balls caught by KL Rahul

At the end of the second time-out, the home team were tottering at 105 for the loss of five wickets. After scoring 53 in the first three overs, RCB had managed to score just 52 runs from the next ten overs to squander the early momentum with the bat.
