Coldplay's Chris Martin chose to surprise his fans on Saturday, January 18, at the Navi Mumbai event by praising India's pacer Jasprit Bumrah. On Saturday, Martin performed one of his well-known songs, "A Sky Full of Stars," on stage while the audience members joined in, making for an amazing spectacle.

Martin abruptly stepped to the microphone during the song to inform the audience that they would have to halt the performance soon because Jasprit Bumrah wanted to join him backstage to play cricket. The Indian pacer's desire to bowl at him is just another joke the Coldplay vocalist would make.

"Hold on, we have to finish the show because Jasprit Bumrah wants to come and play backstage," said Martin. "He (Bumrah) says he needs to bowl at me now." When Bumrah was mentioned, the audience became overwhelmed because they thought the Indian pacer might make an unexpected on-stage debut during the performance. But in the end, that didn't happen.

Chris Martin enthralled the audience and even spoke to them in Hindi during Coldplay's performance in Mumbai, making it a veritable "paradise" for the fans. Undoubtedly, the Bumrah shoutout increased the night's enthusiasm. Despite the star cricketer not being present at the Coldplay performance, Bumrah was included on India's Champions Trophy team. He took 32 wickets in Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and anticipated spearheading India's assault throughout the competition.

Currently, Bumrah is recovering from an injury he sustained at the end of the Australia tour. "The medical staff will keep an eye on him," chief selector Ajit Agarkar said, "because they want him to remain healthy for the whole competition," he added. In the meantime, India did not select a backup for Bumrah in case he is unable to play before the group stage.

He will not play in the T20Is and ODIs against England. The reports understand that BCCI's medical staff has advised him to take two weeks off. Harshit Rana was selected by the Indian team management to take Bumrah's place during the England series.
