There was trouble during the first day of the second Test match that is being played in Kanpur. According to reports doing the rounds, Bangladeshi fan Robi was rushed to the hospital by the police present at the venue.

According to reports carried by Sportstar, a few Indian fans assaulted the Bangladeshi fan. Robi said to Sportstar “They hit me on my back and lower abdomen and I couldn’t breathe”. In a video doing the rounds, Robi can be seen sitting on a chair as he is surrounded by the local authorities.

The cops while speaking to Sportstar refuted such claims made by Robi. One of the cops while speaking to the magazine said “One of our officers found him gasping for breath near the C block entrance, and he was struggling to speak. It seems like a case of dehydration, but we will wait for the doctor's advice,”

This alleged incident happened at the Green Park Stadium just before lunch on day 1. The local authorities have said that they will view the footage on CCTV and proceed with all the needed action.

Rain stops play before Tea

The first day of the second Test between India and Bangladesh was marred by rain. The visiting side had lost 3 wickets and scored 107 runs from 35 overs played. Akash Deep had given two wickets before lunch.

The first wicket was that of Zakir Hasan who was caught by Yashasvi Jaiswal for 0 from 24 balls. The next man to go was Shadman Islam who had scored 24 runs before he was out LBW to give Akash Deep his 2nd wicket.

Bangladesh went into lunch with Mominul Haque and Najmul Shanto batting. Post lunch, R. Ashwin got India its 3rd wicket. India’s veteran spinner dismissed Bangladesh skipper Shanto for 31 off 57 balls. India went up for DRS after the batter was given not out. The 3rd umpire saw the ball hitting the stumps and the decision went in favor of the home team.

Meanwhile, the whole incident involving Robi and his allegations is yet to come out. The fan wasn’t spotted in the stadium post-lunch to cheer his side. Heavy rains brought a halt to proceedings with the tea break looming large.
