Star Pakistani batter Babar Azam had a horror start to the Two-match Test series at home against Bangladesh. The opening game of the series began on Wednesday in Rawalpindi. Overnight rain meant that the play was delayed for over four hours. Bangladesh won the toss and chose to bowl first and make use of the fresh wicket.
Left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam was bowling the 2nd ball of the 9th over. Babar Azam tried to fend at a ball going down the leg side. The former Pakistan skipper could get an edge as Liton Das dove to the leg side to complete an amazing catch.

It was a heartbreaking moment for the sparse crowd that had come to watch the game. At that stage, the home team were in early trouble as they were reduced to 16/3 with Shoriful Islam taking two wickets.
Opting to bowl first, Bangladesh began well as they removed opener Abdullah Shafique. The batter was out caught in the slips as Zakir Hasan took a stunning catch to give Hasan Mahmud his first wicket.
Skipper Shan Masood came out to bat and hit a crisp boundary to get the ball rolling. Just when he was looking set, Shan Masood was caught behind to give Shoriful Islam his first wicket of the day. Both the Bangladeshi bowlers were spot on with their lines and lengths as they had the home team batters in trouble.
The duck scored by Babar Azam was the first time he was getting out without opening his score at home. His previous 7 ducks have come away from home and the short stint at the wicket was a further blow for the home team who were looking to dominate the bowling.
Earlier it was reported that Karachi will host the second Test of the series. But following repair works at the stadium, the PCB has decided to play the second game at the same venue as the first Test.
