Punjab Kings got a big breakthrough against RCB in the IPL 2025 final, as the batting stalwart, Virat Kohli, was trapped by PBKS all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai in a short-pitched delivery at the fifth stump. Kohli went in an attempt to pull it, but it ended up getting a height within the 30-yard circle only.
Omarzai ran almost to three pitches towards the wicket to take a stunning sliding caught and bowled to dismiss Virat Kohli, at the individual score of 43 runs off 35 balls, with only three fours.

Notably, Virat Kohli’s journey in IPL 2025 ended with 657 runs in 15 innings with a brilliant average of 54.75, hitting eight half-centuries. He ended up as the third leading run-scorer in the tournament, following MI’s Suryakumar Yadav and young GT batter, B Sai Sudharsan.
PBKS dominate RCB in the first half
Speaking of the current action of the game between RCB and PBKS, Rajat Patidar’s men have scored 177 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 18.4 overs. Romario Shepherd and Krunal Pandya are there in the middle, with individual scores of 11 and 3 runs, respectively. Earlier in the innings, Mayank Agarwal and skipper Rajat Patidar also scored 24 and 26 runs, respectively, followed by 25 and 24 runs scored by Liam Livingstone and the wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma.
Star PBKS pacer Kyle Jamieson scalped 3 wickets for his side in his four-over spell in the first innings. Besides him, Azmatullah Omarzai, Vijaykumar Vyshak, and Yuzvendra Chahal have also claimed a wicket each for PBKS in the first innings so far.
Both teams are eyeing ending their wait for an IPL title since the tournament’s inception 17 years back in 2008. IPL will get a new champion after three years since Gujarat Titans won IPL 2022 in their debut appearance in the tournament.
