WATCH: RCB duo Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik celebrate their birthdays in grand style ahead of IPL 2025 finals

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are set to play the Indian Premier League (IPL) finals against Punjab Kings on Tuesday night. Ahead of the game, two members of the side celebrated their birthdays amidst grand celebrations. Skipper Rajat Patidar turned 32 years old while Dinesh Karthik was celebrating his 40th birthday ahead of the massive encounter. 

The team put out a video where the two RCB members were seen being wished by teammates and being joined by family. It was a huge moment considering that RCB are on the cusp of history as they are just one step away from winning their maiden IPL title. Each and every member of the side could be seen in a happy mood when the celebrations were taking place.

Rajat Patidar has been lauded by RCB fans ever since taking over as the captain. RCB are yet to lose an away game this season, and the match on Tuesday will be a huge test for Patidar as the leader. Dinesh Karthik, too, has done well as the batting coach of the side ever since hanging up his boots at the end of the last season.

Dinesh Karthik lauds RCB skipper Rajat Patidar

Former India player Dinesh Karthik was in full praise for skipper Rajat Patidar ahead of the IPL 2025 finals. Speaking on RCB’s Journey to the finale show, Karthik heaped massive praise on Patidar and his leadership qualities that have seen the team play some amazing cricket. 

Karthik said, “Rajat Patidar has been the biggest eye-opener for me in life. Because when people suddenly get a little bit of adulation, power, they tend to change. It’s normal. Their behavioural pattern, the way they interact. Somewhere, something will show. But with Rajat Patidar, what a guy he is. For someone who is a captain of RCB, and today he calls the shots, he has been exactly the same that he was before becoming the captain, Rajat.”

RCB’s director of cricket, Mo Bobat, said, “I think one of the most impressive things that Rajat has shown is that, and he does this as a personality and character anyway, anyone who knows him knows he’s incredibly calm. And it’s been good to see him use the people around him, whether that’s Jitesh Sharma as vice-captain, or Virat Kohli as a senior player, Krunal Pandya as another senior player, or even someone like Josh Hazlewood.”
