Chennai Super Kings (CSK) finally seemed to have found their rhythm with the bat in the IPL 2025 game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Chasing 214 runs to win the game, CSK got off to a great start thanks to the talents of 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre. Veteran seamer Bhuvneshwar Kumar who had given just five runs in his opening over was smoked for 26 runs in his second over of the game.
The onslaught began when Ayush Mhatre was quick to pick a slower ball and hit it over mid-off for four. In the second ball, the batter got a half volley which he smashed over the bowlers head for the second four in successive balls. Kumar bowled a full toss that Mhatre didn’t miss and hit it past the mid-on region for the third four of the over.
In the next ball, Mhatre was quick to spot yet another slower ball and this time hit Kumar for a six over mid-on. With 18 runs coming in the first four balls, CSK were motoring on and making it a great chase. The final two balls of the over saw two more fours to make it 26 runs being scored off the over. Mhatre who began the over on 10 off nine balls raced to 36 off 15 balls.
