Star India all-rounder Axar Patel showcased his sensational fielding skills in the ongoing India vs Pakistan clash in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Axar executed an amazing direct hit to run Imam-ul-Haq out to give the second blow to Pakistan in the high-octane clash. The moment came on the second ball of the 10th over in the first innings.

Imam-ul-Haq played Kuldeep Yadav towards the mid-on region and ran for a single as he was on the danger end. The ball went straight into the hands of Axar Patel, who made no mistake in dismantling the three stumps at the non-striker’s end to give India a second success in the first innings, dismissing Imam-ul-Haq.

Speaking of the current action of the match, Pakistan had scored 58 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 12 overs at the time of filling this. Number three batter Saud Shakeel and skipper Mohammad Rizwan are in the middle scoring 6 runs each.

Earlier in the innings, former skipper and star opener Babar Azam scored 23 runs off 26 balls, with five fours, before getting dismissed by star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Besides Axar Patel’s run-out, Hardik Pandya has scalped 1 wicket at just 13 runs in 3 overs.

Notably, India are coming off a 6-wicket win against Bangladesh in their campaign opener to earn two points. They will aim to beat the arch-rivals Pakistan to strengthen their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals of the marquee international tournament.

On the other hand, Pakistan lost to New Zealand by a big margin of 60 runs and they are currently at the rock bottom of the Group A points table. The ongoing clash against the arch-rivals India is a must-win and all-important to keep their hopes alive in the tournament.
